The gals are back! The ‘Powerpuff Girls’ are gearing up for a return to the small screen with a brand new series– and a brand new look! Check out the first pic of the revamped crime-fighters!
At long last, on June 9, Cartoon Network revealed its first look at the revamped Powerpuff Girls, which will make its highly anticipated return to the net in 2016, after 11 years since it last aired new episodes. The girls have a sassy new look, but we can be sure they have the same tenacity and fearlessness. However, one thing that definitely will be different when PPG returns is the voices behind the characters: each of the three butt-kicking girls has been cast with new voice actors. Check out who’s going to be bringing Blossom, Buttercup and Bubbles to life when the series finally returns!
They’re back and looking better than ever. Though the girls’ new looks aren’t drastically different from the ones which we came to know and love when Powerpuff Girls originally aired, they have definitely been updated.
The new series, also like the original, will again focus on the three girls as they fight bad guys and save the world, all between homework and chores. We do know, though, that the girls will be brought to life with new voices. Amanda Leighton will play Blossom, Kristen Li will play Bubbles and Natalie Palamides will bring Buttercup to life. Returning to the series will be Tom Kenny, revisiting his role as both the Narrator and Mayor.
“It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property,” Chief Content Officer Rob Sorcher, said. “We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime.”
What do you think of the Powerpuff Girls’ new look? Are you excited for the revamped series?
