He may be in space again, but Matt Damon is nothing like his ‘Interstellar’ character — this time, he’s stranded on Mars, forced to find a way to stay alive in ‘The Martian.’ And this trailer looks seriously breathtaking.
Based on Andy Weir’s 2012 novel, The Martain is a new sci-fi flick, directed by Ridley Scott with a seriously stellar cast. The film circles around Matt Damon‘s character, Mark Watney, an astronaut who was abandoned on Mars. So, how will he survive four years until he can contact someone? I have a feeling he’s not just throwing in the towel.
When Mark wakes up alive after an emergency evacuation sends his entire crew back to Earth, he’s left with a huge problem — only enough supplies to last him a month, and it will take four years for men to reach him.
“In the face of overwhelming odds, I’m gonna have to science the sh-t out of this,” Matt Damon says in the clip. “I’ve gotta figure out how to grow four years worth of food, here, on a planet where nothing grows.”
He also has to figure out how to send a message to the crew, which takes on a battle of its own. We’ve got to say, this is quite the a-list line up in the film. Jeff Daniels, Jessia Chastain, Chiwetel Ejofor, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig and Donald Glover all are supporting roles, working for NASA.
“In your face Neil Armstrong,” Matt also says — showing that this movie will break your heart, make you laugh and it’s all because of Matt’s incredible acting. Do you want to see The Martian, HollywoodLifers?
