The Lightning strike again! Game 3 of the 2015 Stanley Cup Final was one of the most intense matches between the Blackhawks and Lightning yet, but Tampa Bay came out on top, 3-2 ,coming one step closer to winning the Stanley Cup!

The battle for the Stanley Cup is on. The Tampa Bay Lightning now have two wins under their belt while the Chicago Blackhawks have just one. After going head to head in Game 3 on June 8 at Chicago’s United Center, the Blackhawks lost at home while the Lightning are now in the lead for the Stanley Cup. Find out all the details from the intense match!

Both the Blackhawks and the Lightning proved they weren’t going down without a fight. The first period was super intense, with Ryan Callahan scoring on a slap shot with assists from Victor Hedman and J.T. Brown, after Johnny Oduya fell down close to the net. But the Blackhawks weren’t going to let the Lightning take the lead for long! Brad Richards also scored on a slap shot with assists from Marian Hossa and Andrew Shaw.

The second period had no goals from either team, but there was a “bang bang” play when Hawks player Brandon Saad hit the Lightning’s goalie pretty bad, resulting in 3 on 5 players on the ice. However, the Blackhawks were able to hold strong and not let Tampa score.

The third period was the most intense part of the game, with the Blackhawks scoring their second goal first, after Brandon came back strong, scoring on a wrist shot. With the Blackhawks up 2-1, Lightning player Ondrej Palat scored thirteen seconds later, tying the game 2-2. With just a few minutes of the game to go, Cedric Paquette scored on a wrist shot, leading the game 3-2. While the Blackhawks tried to come back they had no luck, leaving the victory in the hands of the Lightning.

With the series previously tied at 1-1, the Lightning showed that they’re serious about winning the Stanley Cup. Will the Blackhawks fight back? We can’t wait to see what happens next! The Blackhawks and the Lightning will next face off on June 10 at 7pm in Chicago.
