Murder In The First Season 2

‘Murder In The First’ season two premieres tonight, June 8, and got the chance to talk to Raphael Sbarge, who plays Det. Molk on the hit show. He assured fans that the show is taking things ‘up a notch’ in terms of thrilling suspense this season! Here’s the scoop.

The drama and suspense on Murder in the First is catapulting to a whole new level in the show’s sophomore season. The show’s second season premieres on June 8, and has the EXCLUSIVE scoop on what’s to come on the crime drama. Raphael Sbarge, who stars alongside Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson, told us that the new season is much more “intense” and “brutal” than the first, and a shocking twist could spell major trouble for our favorite characters.

“What I can tell is the show starts with a very current event,” Raphael tells “From there, we get to take a very long trip exploring, in this case, not just the who but the why and some of the background behind that. There are more things that open up and more collateral damage that occurs. It’s a whole series of twists and turns. I can tell you from where we were last year, it’s an intense and brutal start to the season.”

After setting the stage in the first season, Raphael revealed that the show will dig deeper into the lives of the detectives. “There are a lot more stories that involve the detectives,” Raphael continues. “We become a bit more of the center of action and activity. There’s a twist in the story that involves a lot of us. We also get an opportunity to explore a lot more about each of the detectives, their families and what’s going on in their lives.”

Don’t expect the crime drama to hold back in the next 10 episodes. Murder in the First is ready for a fast-paced and powerful season two. “This is not your mother’s Murder in the First,” Raphael says. “We’ve definitely taken it up a notch. It’s a far more intense and kind of active show with a real drive to it. And that is because of how the show starts.”

Buckle up, guys. It’s going to be a bumpy and jaw-dropping ride with these detectives. Murder in the First airs Mondays at 10/9c on TNT.
