It looks like J.K. Rowling is making our dreams come true– again! The superstar author recently answered some fan questions on Twitter, and she hinted at a potentially mind-blowing ‘Harry Potter’ tidbit!
Hold up: There’s an American version of Hogwarts? Well, according to Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling, there might be! In the upcoming Potter prequel film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will hit theaters in November, 2016, we go with U.K. based wizard Newt Scamander to New York City. So, as we skip across the pond to the U.S., does that mean we’ll finally get to learn about the American school of wizardry?
J.K. took to Twitter on June 6 to basically make us all American Muggles dream of our very own school of witchcraft and wizardry. A fan Tweeted at J.K. and asked, directly, “So what’s the name of the US school?”
Apparently, sometimes being blunt pays off because J.K. responded! “That information will be revealed in due course.”
The info-spilling didn’t stop there, though! Another curious fan piggybacked onto that question and asked, “IS NEWT GOING TO VISIT A SCHOOL IN NEW YORK OMG YES” J.K. dropped a signature, mystery-shrouded answer/non-answer, though.
“No, but he’s going to meet people who were educated at [name] in [not New York],” J.K. Tweeted back. Uh, yeah, permission to totally lose your mind!
So, let’s unpack this a bit. We now know that, even though Newt won’t visit the school in America, there is a school that exists, and Newt will be meeting students who attended it! Oh, and not that this narrows it down much, but we know the school is not in New York. Interesting. Well, J.K. we’re ready for more deets when you are!
