Talk about literally following in your mother’s footsteps. Billie Lourd is joining the family business — acting, and she’s starting with a project near and dear to her heart, ‘Star Wars’. You know, the franchise that launched her mom Carrie Fisher, to fame!
There’s probably nothing more Carrie Fisher, 58, would want than to act alongside her daughter Billie Lourd, 22, in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie. Well, it’s happening, but will Billie play the daughter of her mother’s iconic character Princess Leia?
The stunning 22-year-old told Interview Magazine that we will be seeing her in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens come Dec. 2015. So exciting, her parent’s (especially her mom Carrie) must be so proud of their girl.
“It’s been a secret dream of mine,” Billie reveals about acting in her first-ever editorial feature. Although her parents, Carrie and Bryan Lourd, initially discouraged their daughter from an on-camera career. “My whole life, they said, ‘Do not act. You need to get a college degree.’ I went to performing arts camp, secretly taking classes—I got the lead in the musical, and my dad was like, ‘Wait, I thought you were going here for music and knitting.’ ”
They secret classes paid off, because Billie landed a role in the franchise that made her own mother a star. “This is the first job I’ve ever had — right into the fire,” she said of the role. The gorgeous brunette told the outlet that she will not be playing off of her mother’s iconic Princess Leia, who will also return in the new film. Billie bluntly stated, “I’m not Princess Leia’s daughter.”

So, the burning question is, who will Billie be playing? Sorry, but that’s still under-wraps. Darn you J.J. Abrams for keeping this movie top secret. That’s okay, we like the anticipation!
