It finally happened. One Direction just had their first performance in Britain since Zayn Malik left the band. And after watching their June 5 concert in the UK, we think it’s safe to say that the boys haven’t lost any of their mojo. See the video!
One Direction is continuing to move on without Zayn Malik, 22. The band performed in Britain for the first time since he sensationally quit the group, as the latest leg of their world tour got underway on June 5. And despite his absence, it seems like everything’s going to be okay.
Performing at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, Harry, 21, Liam, 21, Niall, 21 and Louis, 23, rattled through a two hour, 24-song set-list that included some of their biggest hits. 50,000 fans sang in unison with the band, as songs like “What Makes You Beautiful” and “Best Song Ever” got the crowd all worked up. And in this clip of the boys singing “You & I,” they certainly do not appear to have lost their edge without Zayn, despite recently going from a fivesome to a foursome.
Sure, they may have to work a little harder now, but their new rockier sound has us just as excited as any One Directioner.
However, despite cheers for the group while they performed, there were jeers for Zayn. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, those loyal fans didn’t take kindly to a pre-recorded perfume ad which featured Zayn. In fact, as soon as Zayn’s face appeared onscreen, fans booed rather loudly! Bizarrely, concert organizers failed to cut Zayn from the clip.
But isn’t it time to forgive and forget, One Directioners? The band sounds equally as great as a foursome. What do you think HollywoodLifers? Does One Direction sound bad without Zayn?
