It’s a momentous day for ‘Hunger Games’ fans. A first photo of the filming from the all-important epilogue scene has just been revealed– and we’ve got it for you right here!
We’re getting closer and closer to the Nov. 20 release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2— and that means we’re starting to get more and more spoilers from the highly anticipated sequel! Well, on June 5, thanks to the kindness of one of the film’s producer Nina Jacobson, fans of the epic franchise got an extra special treat: A glimpse at the filming of the film’s epilogue scene! Check out the super-thrilling pic right now!
We can see you, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence)! Well, we can kinda see you.
Nina posted a very sunlit photo of the pivotal scene being filmed, accompanied by the caption, “Sunrise. The epilogue, at last.” The particular scene is taking place on top of a gorgeous and weed-covered hillside, where the movie is being filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.
While we are extremely grateful for the behind the scenes glimpse, we have to say the obscuring sunlight is making it quite difficult to make anything out– particularly the actors! However, we can make a somewhat safe bet (at least we hope we can), that the photo features Katniss, as well as Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), in addition to the crew guys who surround them.
We don’t know if the epilogue will precisely follow that in the book, but we can assume there will be at least some similarities. As it goes in the book counterpart, the epilogue sees Katniss and Peeta more than 20 years after they have brought down Panem. The two’s children, a son and a daughter, play in the meadow, as they both continue to reconcile their pasts, while Katniss herself wonders how to get through each day while living with all that she went through during the Games.
What do you think of the epilogue pic? Are you excited for the new movie?
