Three days after totally dissing Caitlyn Jenner on Twitter, Drake Bell took to the social media site on June 4 to apologize for his transphobic insult, which he now realizes was ‘thoughtless’ and ‘insensitive.’ Read his full apology here.
Drake Bell, 28, has finally decided to tuck his tail between his legs and apologize to Caitlyn Jenner, 65, for the “insensitive” comments, which many labeled as transphobic, he posted on Twitter June 1. If the actor is being sincere, which he seems to be, we hope he learned his lesson.
“I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks. I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey,” Drake wrote on Twitter June 4, before adding, “Although my comments were made in innocence, I deeply regret the negative effect they’ve had on so many.”
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Drake angered a lot of people when he tweeted, “Sorry…still calling you Bruce,” following Caitlyn’s big reveal on the cover of Vanity Fair. It was a transphobic insult that was not only uncalled for, but upset many of Drake’s followers. He later deleted the tweet. We love that Drake is now apologizing, but it’s unfortunate it took him three days to do so.
Drake Bell’s History Of Dissing & Insulting Celebrities
Sadly, this isn’t the first time Drake has talked badly about fellow celebrities and acted inappropriately on Twitter. In September 2014, he tweeted a Justin Bieber fan and said, “I hope you die.” He has also stated that Justin and Ariana Grande are “disgusting.” And during an interview in 2012, he dissed Taylor Swift for dating Harry Styles. “Taylor Swift? Is she making the rounds? She has been making the rounds,” he told PopCandiesTV. Ouch! Let’s just hope Drake is done bashing people. Instead, we’d love to see him lift people up.
