If you’ve ever wondered whether celebrities are as absolutely fantastic in real life as they are on screen or stage, well, I can say that sometimes they are. The perfect example is ‘Dancing With The Stars’ finalist Noah Galloway! Click here to download the HollywoodLife.com podcast and hear our exclusive interview with Noah.
When Iraq veteran Noah Galloway competed on this past season of Dancing with the Stars, he forever changed the perception of what it is to dance. That’s because Sergeant Galloway lost his left arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee in an Iraq during an Improvised Explosive Device attack in 2005. That meant that Noah danced with a prosthetic left leg, which didn’t bend at the joint. Nevertheless, with the breathtaking and original choreography of his partner, Sharna Burgess, which made use of his impressive strength and ripped physique, he performed in a jaw-droppingly beautiful style.
Noah, 33, on the show, was diligent, humble, determined, friendly and a romantic — he proposed on air to fiancee Jamie Boyd, during the show. So, we were all so excited to meet him when he came to the HollywoodLife.com office to do an interview for our weekly podcast. Now, I can tell you that Noah in person is even better — if that’s possible — than Noah on Dancing with the Stars. First off, he’s just as handsome and evidently in shape as on TV, but in real life he’s even friendlier and also much more relaxed than on TV. Noah smiled for the entire time that he was with us. But maybe that’s because he came with his lovely fiancee Jamie, 29, and they have the most adorable in-love chemistry. Noah was still beaming about making it all the way to the finale of DWTS, as well as becoming the face of Kenneth Cole‘s new fragrance, MANKIND Ultimate. “I had never danced a step in my life [before DWTS],”
he confessed in our interview. “I thought, ‘I’ll probably last three weeks at the most and I’d be done.’ I don’t dance.”

Nevertheless, he wanted to challenge himself and credits his stellar performance to his brilliant, professional DWTS dance partner, Sharna. “She taught me every dance step. The concepts, the music — it was amazing. She changed so much about what was the norm of dancing just to work around my injuries,” Noah explained. He told us that he and Sharna practiced from 8:00 AM until midnight. “A lot of the times Sharna and I were the first to get there and the last to leave. Because I’m not a dancer, I was trying to remember all the dances…it was us figuring out what I could do with my injuries. So it took a lot of work. For me it was mentally draining.”
Noah told us that he got close to Rumer Willis — he’s not, for the record, scared of her dad, Bruce — as well as Riker Lynch, and became closest with Robert [Shark Tank] Herjavec. “We go back and forth daily still.” Noah was so positive and enthusiastic talking about his DWTS experience, his kids (he has three), his new opportunities in life (he’s still deciding on next steps) and of course, about the love of his life: Jamie. “I would never had imagined he would ask me (to marry) on the show,” Jamie told us in the podcast. “I was blown away.”
Noah confessed to us that his partner, Sharna, one of the executive producers and contestant Riker were in on his proposal plan. “I told Riker because his dance was after that. He was okay with it — he was like, ‘Please do it!’” Noah told us. He and Jamie had been dating for two and a half years and had a very slow — one lunch a week — courtship. “I wouldn’t see him in the evenings,” Jamie confided. “Just because I was attracted to him. I thought he was very handsome,” she revealed. Their first lunch date was at Chipotle. Now, they’re taking their time planning an outdoor wedding close to home, in Alabama.
