It’s still hard to process the fact that Zayn Malik won’t be a part of One Direction’s fifth album. But does his former bandmate, Harry Styles, think that recording as a quartet has actually been better? That’s what it sounds like!
Even though some Directioners are still reeling over Zayn Malik‘s exit, Harry Styles, 21, is here to reassure you that One Direction‘s first album sans Z will be better than ever. In fact, the sexy Brit even said in a revealing interview that the new material without Mr. Malik “sounds good.” Read on to see what else Harry had to say about the now-4-member group’s new music!
“The creative process — it’s very similar to be honest,” Harry admitted to Ryan Seacrest in a June 4 radio interview. “But it was cool how some of the things came out sounding because actually there was a lot of parts that kind of needs to get written with Zayn in mind and with all of us in mind. It’s great, the new stuff sounds good so far I think? I hope. So we hope that people like it.”
Not gonna lie, we still might shed a tear in memory of Zayn’s angelic voice. But obvi, we’re sure we’re still going to love the new tracks from Harry and Co. While the long-haired hottie has been busy penning songs for the 1D’s next LP, he says his boys Liam Payne, 21, Niall Horan, 21, and Louis Tomlinson, 23, have all been contributing just as much.
“We all write. We all enjoying writing so much that sometimes you write a song you like that just doesn’t necessarily work,” Harry shared. “So I think we’re all just having a lot of fun writing.” A whole lot of fun that Zayn is definitely missing out on!
While Harry is pretty pumped about the new One Direction album, his awkward response to Ryan’s question about a solo career has us thinking: yes, he definitely wants to pull a Zayn, too!
“We have the album and the tour that we’re working on right now. And I think, when you have so many goals that you feel you have yet to achieve, it’s kind of hard to see past those,” the singer explained. “I think it’s important to focus on what’s going on and don’t lose track. We’re all working toward the same thing right now, and I don’t think we’re thinking much past that.”
Okay, so it seems like he’s staying put — for now. But if he never intended on breaking out on his own, wouldn’t he just blatantly say so? While a solo album from Harry would be a literal blessing to our ears, we’re not sure if we can handle another 1D exit. Actually, we know we can’t!
HollywoodLifers — let us know what YOU think about Harry’s remarks! Do you think the next One Direction album will be better without Zayn?
