Is there anything Carrie Underwood can’t do? The country cutie and new mommy is getting serious about her fitness routine, and looking totally gorgeous while doing it! Click inside for workout tips straight from Carrie’s trainer.
Let’s be honest: has Carrie Underwood, 32, ever actually looked bad? The first-time mother is on a mission to shed her post-baby weight, and has enlisted trainer Erin Oprea of Oprea Personal Fitness to help her with the job. As the Grammy-winning superstar keeps working toward her killer new bod, we can’t help but wondering — how can WE get toned and tight just like Carrie?
Carrie has been showing off her super toned figure lately, and it’s clear that she’s been working hard to make this progress. The new mom is a fitness lover already — she has a cute clothing line available at Dick’s Sporting Goods called CALIA by Carrie Underwood — so sweating it out at the gym with Erin isn’t too much of a chore. You can do this, Carrie! And we have to know — what actually goes in to getting an amazing, toned stomach, and how can we do it at home? Tell us your secrets, Erin!
“We do lots of lunges, squats, plyometrics, stairs, pull-ups along with weight training. The key to the success is keeping all of this at your level and not to do too much too soon. Listen to your body,” she told E! News. Obviously, these tips are really working for Carrie.
We were kind of hoping it involved a lot of sitting, but okay! Erin continued spouting fitness wisdom, sharing that achieving a totally toned tummy also meant changing the way you think about food: whole grains, like oatmeal, in the morning, and drinking plenty of water throughout the day to keep energy high. That sounds easy enough, doesn’t it?
“Core exercises are great to help tone the body, but a slimmer midsection is truly made in the kitchen. Eating clean is the fastest way to get flatter.” If Carrie trusts her trainer to sculpt her sleek physique post-baby, then obviously she knows a thing or two. Count us in!
Carrie’s Trainer Shares Her Favorite Moves
Getting in shape isn’t easy, and Erin revealed that it’s no different for Carrie! In order to help more people out, she also shared some of her favorite exercises for the most effective results. These moves include planks, plank slides, and hip dips — ouch! We’re sore just thinking about doing any of that.
“A killer core exercise is the plank slide. Get into plank form on your hands with your feet on a towel (make sure you’re on a slippery surface like hardwood). Slide your feet out wide like a jumping jack and back to center.”
And above all, it’s about dedication: “Everybody has to work hard to get what they want. Carrie is no exception. She gets up and stays disciplined.”
