Oh no! It looks like ‘Teen Mom 2’ fan favorite, Leah Messer-Calvert, has checked into rehab for a 30-day stint, treating her ‘depression and stress.’ The troubled mom of three has forced herself to seek professional help, according to a new report.
Leah Messer-Calvert, 23, hasn’t had it easy over the past several years. Juggling a failing marriage with her estranged hubby, Jeremy Calvert, 26, and the responsibility of caring for kids, Ali, Aleeah, both 5, and Adalynn, 2, the West Virginia-native has apparently had enough — and “is taking all the steps necessary to make sure she not only takes care of herself, but also her girls,” allegedly. Read on for all the details on Leah’s road to recovery!
“She’s ready for her 30-day stint of therapy,” a source close to Leah tells the June 15 issue of In Touch. “She’s being treated for depression and stress. She’s always put people’s needs ahead of her own, and her mental health suffered because of it.”
On May 21, the MTV starlet arrived at Utah’s Cirque Lodge, a posh rehab facility that has often been a place of refuge for afflicted A-listers like Eva Mendes, 41, Mary-Kate Olsen, 28, and even Lindsay Lohan, 28. After custody battles, a looming divorce and a pill problem (documented on the last season of Teen Mom 2), it seems like Leah could really use this time to center herself.
“[Leah] is finally ready to make a positive change in her life and get treatment. She’s grateful that she’s in a position and has the means to get some of the best help in the world,” the mag’s insider adds. “She is taking all the steps necessary to make sure she not only takes care of herself, but also [Ali, Aleeah and Adalynn].” You go, girl!
After Leah completes her stint at the famed treatment center, she will unfortunately be returning to a dire home life. Jeremy, who filed for divorce back in April, has already struck up a romance with another woman, but nonetheless, “Leah won’t let anything stop her,” the report claims. “She’s determined to come out of this a new, stronger person.”
Catch more of Leah’s story when Teen Mom 2 returns to MTV on Thursday, July 9 at 10 p.m.
