ABC’s horrifying new drama, ‘The Whispers’ will have its series premiere on June 1 and we’ve got a preview to prepare you. Trust us, you’ll need some time to get yourself ready for this terror.

On ABC’s The Whispers, premiering on June 1, an FBI Agent (Lily Rabe) must get to the bottom of a ton of  horrifying incidents, all involving children and their mutual (invisible) “friend,” Drill. The series will also star Barry Sloane as a high ranking government official who (probably, very likely, almost definitely) might start a romantic relationship with Lily’s character. Since the show is one of the summer’s most hyped, there’s been a ton of, well, whispers about what to expect, but Barry is setting the record straight on what will really go down in this mysterious thriller!

Barry wants people to know that they won’t have to wait too long to get to the action on The Whispers. “By the end of Episode 4, you’ll know exactly what it is we’re dealing with,” Barry told our sister site TV Line.

“We don’t drag [the mystery] out for 13 episodes,” he added. “You’re learning as the characters are learning, and the whole thing takes place in nine days.”

Of course, just because we’re dealing with unimaginable childhood trauma, doesn’t mean there’s no room for romance! “There’s a definite connection between [Lily and Barry’s characters], but they’re going to try to make the best moral decisions to make their family lives work,” Barry said. “Claire’s in a slightly different position after losing her husband; Wes has been allowed to make amends. Wes and Claire are like magnets, so it’ll be interesting to watch them struggle to pull apart.”

What do you think of The Whispers preview? Are you going to tune into the new series?
