It was all about Amber Portwood and Maci Bookout’s stories on part one of the ‘Teen Mom OG’ reunion special June 1– and needless to say, emotions were running high. From Maci and Ryan determining the state of their relationship to Amber’s brother asking Matt what his motives were, it was quite the event.
Teen Mom OG has come to a dramatic end, but first: part one of the reunion! Maci Bookout and Ryan started the show, and let’s just say — they still hold grudges against MTV for allowing Farrah Abraham to return. We know Maci wasn’t happy about it (since she quit), but we actually found out that Ryan had some pretty strong opinions too — especially about Farrah selling her “artificial body part”
“That moment, to me, had more to do with me and MTV, not me and Farrah,” Maci told Dr. Drew about originally wanting to quit the show. “I just don’t think it’s appropriate for them to be filming Bentley playing baseball, and then come back form a commercial, and it might be at a strip club.”
As for Ryan’s thoughts on the matter, he wasn’t into Farrah rejoining the show either. “I think if MTV is going to do a TV show on preventing having kids, why bring someone back that is gonna do a porn or sell their artificial body part on the internet? And she’s making a killing off of it. Why would you do that?” he asked Dr. Drew, and we can’t say we disagree.
Amber Storms Off Stage
Next up was Amber, and it was definitely an emotional time. She admitted that she was not taking the pointers that she had been given after leaving prison: dating before a year and drinking again. She revealed that her father had just passed away from alcohol, but that she does drink now and then, which we saw in Vegas.
Once Gary came out and joined Amber on stage, she tried convincing him that she was ready to have joint custody of her daughter Leah. She broke down in tears after he admitted that he trusted her and she was a good mother, but Leah’s in a routine, and naturally, he does have a fear that she will make a mistake again. Basically, that means that Amber will have to go through a lawyer.
Later, Amber’s brother had some questions for her new boyfriend Matt, who’s 20 years older than her and is “a recovering addict who drinks” — Dr. Drew’s terms that Amber wasn’t too thrilled about. The conversation turned into Dr. Drew asking a lot about Matt’s past and his non-existence relationship with his sponsor. Amber ended up interrupting them, and calling the whole thing “bull-sh-t.” She even stormed off the stage!
She revealed backstage that she felt like she was going to explode so wanted to walk off stage to calm down — which we have to give her credit for! She came back on and called him “the best thing that’s ever happened” to her, and yes, they did reveal that they would get a prenup before the wedding. Phew!
What did you think of the reunion, HollywoodLifers?
