Ergh, this is awkward. New video shows Lil Wayne allegedly charging at and spitting on the referee of a charity basketball game whose calls he didn’t agree with. The awkward part? The game was for Stop the Violence.
Lil Wayne, 32, may have missed the message at the Stop the Violence charity basketball game where his team, Young Money, played against another for the cause. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne disagreed with quite a few of the ref’s calls, and eventually confronted him on the court — allegedly spitting on him before chasing after him in a fit of rage. Yikes.
Not only did Lil Wayne charge at the referee after their disagreement, but TMZ reports that his entire “crew” was quick to follow after him. As you can see in the video below, thankfully it doesn’t seem like things got physical between the two. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne’s tantrum was just enough to completely ruin the “Stop the Violence” message they were trying to send.
You can clearly see Lil Wayne throwing a fit as the referee holds his hands up in surrender on the court. Once the referee is escorted away by someone, Lil Wayne manages to get away from the players who are holding him back and follows after the ref in a threatening manner.
If it weren’t for the level-headed team mates who held him back, Lil Wayne’s fist just might have connected with that poor referee’s chin. Once he finally backed off, the police showed up, but thankfully no arrests were made.
