Such great news! Elizabeth Smart, who was kidnapped from her Utah home at 14-years-old and rescued nine months later, gave birth to her first child this past February. Congratulations!
Elizabeth Smart, 27, is now making headlines for a wonderful reason, she’s a first time mommy! The now sex trafficking activist welcomed her daughter Chloe in Feb., with husband Matthew Gilmour, whom she married in 2012.
Elizabeth and her husband Matthew welcomed daughter Chloe this past Feb., her father Ed Smart told EastIdahoNews.com. So exciting!
“Elizabeth is great,” Ed told the outlet about his daughter who almost exactly 13 years ago, was abducted from their home by a homeless street preacher. “She just had a little baby girl about three months ago. Chloe. We’re just so excited.”
“It is totally private,” Ed also confirmed to the Salt Lake Tribune. “This is something she is keeping to herself and not trying to have out there.” We can completely understand why she would keep this out of the media.
Elizabeth’s heartbreaking kidnapping story made international headlines and even inspired a TV movie, The Elizabeth Smart Story. She also launched the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, which provides resources to help locate missing children and stop sex-trafficking of kids.
Elizabeth’s Greatest Aspiration — To Be A Mom
Elizabeth talked about her desire to start a family with her husband back in 2014.
“That is my greatest aspiration — to be a mother,” she told People. “We’ll start having kids and see how I handle that and then go from there.”
She also admitted that, “I don’t have a predetermined number in my head.” Well, one is a great start!
