What a game! A trip to the Stanley Cup finals was on the line as the New York Rangers went up against the Tampa Bay Lightning in game seven of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 29. It was a thrilling, down to the wire finish and one of the best game sevens in NHL history!
The New York Rangers and the Tampa Bay Lightning faced off at Madison Square Garden in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 29, in what proved to be a thrilling and hard fought finish to their seven game series. Goalies Henrik Lundqvist and Ben Bishop were both monsters between the pipes, but as the final horn blew, only one could emerge victorious.
It was a hard-hitting battle, but the Tampa Bay Lightning ultimately emerged on top, pulling out a tight game 2-0. The game was scoreless after two periods of play, but Alex Killhorn and Ondrej Palat eventually broke things open by scoring in the third period. Goals were at a premium, as both teams spent the first two periods grinding out a scoreless tie. But Tampa Bay’s second year center finally broke through and found the back of the net early in the third period, scoring what would prove to be the game winning goal.
Ben Bishop Is Game Seven Hero For The Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning goalie was absolutely unbeatable as he turned back wave after wave of Rangers attacks and shut down their potent offense. The only question now is after battling through such an intense seven game series, will the Lightning have anything left when they face either the Chicago Blackhawks or the Anaheim Ducks, who are battling through their own seven game series that concludes on May 30 in Anaheim?
