Wow. The 2016 Presidential Race is getting packed! Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum announced on May 27 that he’s also making a bid for the White House!

Make room for Rick Santorum! The 57 year-old former Senator announced his presidential campaign, joining the already huge number of people running in the 2016 Election. Rick is now the newest name looking to replace the outgoing President Barack Obama!

Rick Santorum’s Presidential Announcement: He’s Running In 2016

Before he would make his grand announcement to supporters at a manufacturing plant in Cabot, Pennsylvania, Rick sat down with George Stephanopoulos to formally announce his campaign, reports Deadline.

“I’m ready to do this again,” said Rick, who was excited for another try at becoming the President of the United States.

Wow! We have another candidate for the White House! Rick joins an already stuffed 2016 Presidential field. He’s competing for the nomination against former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorna, Ben Carson, Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. The winner of that race will face whoever scores the Democratic Party nomination. Currently, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced her campaign, as well as Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Oh – and there’s also Waka Flocka Flame, as well! We can’t forget about him!

Rick Santorum: A History

Like Mike Huckabee and Hillary Clinton, Rick has run for president before. He came in second in the 2012 Republican Party primary, falling behind Mitt Romney. Though Rick was born in Virginia, he grew up in Pennsylvania. He attended both Penn State and University of Pittsburgh. He was originally elected to the House of Representatives in 1990, before getting elected to the US Senate in 1994. Though he lost his re-election bid in 2006, he has maintained a constant presence in American politics.
