Do we smell a new on screen bromance? The trailer for the upcoming dramedy, ‘The End Of The Tour,’ has just been released and it features Jesse Eisenberg and Jason Segel teaming up to take the trip of a lifetime. Check it out right now!

In The End of the TourJason Segel will take on the daunting task of depicting acclaimed writer, David Foster Wallacewho committed suicide in 2008 after struggling with depression for years. The film, which hits theaters on July 31, will depict the real life story of David, as he traveled cross country in the 90s with Rolling Stone writer, David Lipsky (Jesse Eisenberg), who was writing an extensive profile about the ill-fated novelist. If that description has you feeling melancholy, just wait ’til you watch the emotional trailer!

David Foster Wallace died nearly seven years ago, but he is still one of the most celebrated authors in the world.

Now, in a film based upon a specific period of his life, the author will be depicted in an entirely new light. “He wants something better than he has,” Lipsky says. “I want precisely what he has already.” And with that, the film’s (and the duo’s relationship) dynamic is established.

The film is based upon Lipsky’s memoir which told of the trip titled, Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip with David Foster Wallace. On the direction front is James Ponsoldt, who had the idea of casting Jason in the role.

Jason Segel’s Moment To Shine

Despite being sought after by the director, though, Jason was hesitant about taking on such a big role. “I’m relatively self-aware,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “There was a big part of me that thought, ‘Why me?’ He said, ‘Because I think you’re right for this—there’s something in your eyes that I think is right.'”

Well, so far, Jason seems to be doing the part justice! The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been receiving a ton of positive buzz.
