There’s no need to turn back time — at 69, Cher is still dominating the fashion scene with a brand new Marc Jacobs campaign — and there’s a whole lot more where that came from!
It’s all starting to make sense now! In the midst of all the Met Gala arrivals, designer Marc Jacobs made quite the entrance with his date, Cher — and it’s all because they had a major campaign up their sleeves. The designer tapped the 69-year-old songstress as one of the faces of his Fall 2015 campaign, which he proudly shared on Instagram with the caption: “The amazing and beautiful CHER! Photographed by David Sims for our Fall/Winter campaign.. This is just the beginning…. More to come!!”
Cher’s Marc Jacobs Campaign Unveiled — Who Will Accompany The Songstress?
In the first image from the shoot, Cher is dressed in all black, wearing a long dress from the designer’s Fall 2015 collection and a pair of leather gloves while perched on a chair against a red backdrop. The shoot was lensed by famed photog David Sims — and the star really brings the dark collection to life in the captivating image.
Now more than ever before, the celeb set is proving age is nothing but a number — and they’re even landing coveted campaigns. From Joan Didion for Céline and Joni Mitchell for Saint Laurent, we’re definitely seeing a major trend — and it doesn’t get more iconic than Cher. The star has been a major fixture on the fashion scene ever since the ’60s — and all eyes were always on what Cher would wear next. From her affinity for beaded costumes to sheer ensembles, she wasn’t afraid of taking risks and making a bold statement.
While Cher looks amazing, we can’t wait to see who else the designer tapped for his Fall 2015 campaign — and while we’re on the topic, why hasn’t anyone enlisted Stevie Nicks for a shoot?
