‘Point Break’ Trailer: Action-Packed Remake Will Make You Nostalgic For Patrick Swayze

It’s finally here! Judging from the newly-released trailer for ‘Point Break,’ the remake looks just as action-packed as the initial film that garnered a major following in 1991. While we’re super stoked, we can’t help but be nostalgic about the first movie’s star, Patrick Swayze!

While we love that Point Break is getting a 2015 reboot, we’ve gotta admit: even an insane amount of action or special effects might not ever compare to the Kathryn Bigelow-directed original that starred Keanu Reeves, 50, and the late Patrick Swayze in the early ’90s. Even still, we’ve totally got plans to see the new adaptation when it hits theaters on Christmas Day. Check out the trailer that came out on May 26, and see if it makes you want to stream the first one on Netflix tonight!

‘Point Break’ Trailer Released: Action-Packed Remake Will Make You Miss Patrick Swayze

Just like the original, Point Break still tells the tale of an inexperienced FBI agent by the name of Johnny Utah, this time played by Luke Bracey, 26 (G.I. Joe: Retaliation). Johnny disguises himself as a daredevil with a group of rebellious thrill-seekers, in order to take down lawbreakers who are trained in committing crimes by using their out-of-this-world athletic skills.

While Mr. Swayze’s movie spent a lot more time in the ocean, surfing and parasailing, the revamped version appears to be broadening the stars’ sports abilities by including motorcycling, snowboarding and a whole lot more.

‘Knock Knock’ Trailer: Keanu Reeves Gets Tortured By Sexy Psychos

It’s great that there are hints of the first flick in the new trailer, but it’s still uncertain if anyone happens to deliver the feature’s most famous line: “I am an FBI agent!” Some of the actors who might get a chance to? Edgar Ramirez, 38, of Zero Dark Thirty fame, who plays Bodhi, along with cast mates Teresa Palmer, Delroy Lindo and Ray Winstone. The lucky director this time is Ericson Core. Make us proud now, guys!

Not gonna lie, we’re definitely bummed that a Patrick cameo won’t be able to happen, maybe Keanu will appease our appetites for the original by making an appearance? Keeping our fingers crossed!
