Even geniuses have a few pop culture blind spots! On a recent episode of ‘Jeopardy,’ one super-contestant proved that, when it comes to Broadway (and religion), he was lacking some crucial information!

On the May 25 episode of Jeopardy, contestant Choyon Manjrekar went on to win his third night in a row on the long running trivia show. However, before he could once again walk away a champion, he had a somewhat humbling moment! When faced with a question about a religious hymn that is also the name of a Broadway show, Choyon proved that he might need to brush up on his musical theater knowledge! Watch the hilarious clip now!

‘Jeopardy’ Fail

At least he’s got a good sense of humor about this little blunder!

When it came to the all important final jeopardy round during his third night competing on the show, the question at hand did not bode well for Choyon.

“A Christian hymn and a Jewish holiday hymn are both titled this, also the name of a 2009 Tony-nominated musical,” the contestants were told, before they were given their daunting 30 seconds to write something down.

Well, Choyon did manage to write down…something. Unfortunately for him, it was not the answer!

‘What Is ‘Kinky Boots?”

The correct answer was Rock of Ages and Choyon, knowing he was out of luck, decided to go balls to the wall! “What is Kinky Boots?” he wrote down.

Obviously, the answer was not exactly on point, as Kinky Boots is a musical about a group of drag queens who inherit a shoe factory and, last we checked, could not be further from any religious hymn.

Host Alex Trebek, of course, could not let the funny moment go unremarked upon. “Kinky Boots, yes indeed!” he said as the audience, understandably, lost it in hysterics. Choyon still walked away as the evening’s winner, having wagered $0 on the answer, so it looks like we know who here is actually having the last laugh!

Did Choyon’s answer make you giggle?
