Sorry dudes, but Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be reprising their role as Michelle Tanner for ‘Fuller House,’ executive producer Robert L. Boyett confirmed on May 22. It’s OK, you can cry along with us!
Well, this is certainly disappointing! After speculation on whether or not Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, 28, would reprise their fan-favorite role as Michelle Tanner in Netflix’s Full House spin-off, Fuller House, it’s been officially confirmed by executive producer Robert L. Boyett that the twins will not be returning to the series. Cry us a river!
Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen In ‘Fuller House’? Confirmed They Won’t Return
What will Fuller House be without Mary-Kate and Ashley and all of their perfectly delivered one-liners? We’re not quite sure, but at least there’s no bad blood between the Olsen twins and Robert.
Robert said in a statement, according to Us Weekly:
Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.
HollywoodLife.com told you that Mary-Kate and Ashley were considering returning to Fuller House, but unfortunately, it looks like those talks fell through. Such a bummer!
Along with Candace, cast members coming back include Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier. Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin are reportedly still in talks.
When the twins claimed that John had not actually reached out to them about being in the show, John took his outrage to Twitter saying, “I call bulls–t” — but then quickly deleted the tweet.
Olsen twins or not, Fuller House will still be amazing and we can’t wait to see it! You got it, dude.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you bummed Mary-Kate and Ashley won’t be in Fuller House? Sound off below!
