Emily Beazley was just 12-years-old when she lost her life on May 18 after a long battle with cancer. She just so happened to be a huge, huge Taylor Swift, 25, fan. When the “Blank Space” singer heard about Emily and her illness, she jumped at the chance to contact the little girl.
Taylor Swift Fan Emily Beazley Dies After Long Battle With Cancer — So Sad
“My beautiful Emily got to use her angel wings,” her mother Nadia wrote on Facebook, according to NBC Chicago. “She fought hard to the end. Her last gift to me was passing peacefully.”
“It hurts so much to imagine that I will never have another hug or kiss from my girl,” she said. “Or hear her say ‘Mommy’ the special way that she does. This hurts so damn bad.”
Before Emily passed away, her dream was to hear from her idol, Taylor and that dream came true! She had been battling stage III T-cell lymphoblastic non-Hodgkins lymphoma since she was 8-years-old. Taylor learned through social media about Emily and decided to step in and call her fan.
“The smile on my daughter [is one] I have not seen in a very, very long time,” Emily’s mother had told the outlet. “I could cry.”
She went on to say, “When she was on the phone, she was completely star-struck. Emily thanked her for her music and told her what her music meant to her.”
Taylor Goes Above & Beyond For Fans
Taylor is known for putting her fans first. When it was brought to her attention a few months ago about another sick fan, she jumped at the chance to call the young girl. She FaceTimed with 4-year-old Jalene Salinas, who only two weeks later lost her battle with brain cancer.
