It must really stink to be on Nicki Minaj’s bad side — especially when you happen to be her biggest fan. Kylie Jenner, who has idolized the rapper for years, is doing her best to keep her ‘head up high’ after Nicki threw shade at her romance with Tyga. Hang in there, girl!
Kylie Jenner, 17, never thought she and her role model, Nicki Minaj, 32, would ever have a problem. However, the rap queen “blindsided” the teen reality star when she attacked her relationship with Tyga, 25. Nicki dissed Kylie’s controversial love affair with her older beau by donning a Givenchy jersey that read, “Pervert 17,” in her latest music video for “Feeling Myself.” A source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY how Kylie is trying to let the insult roll off her back.
Nicki Minaj & Kylie Jenner Feud: ‘KUWTK’ Star Was Blindsided By Her Insult
“Kylie knows all the words to Nicki’s songs, she’s a huge fan. She was super excited when they got to be in a [Beats by Dre] commercial with Nicki last year. It was all she could talk about!” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about the 17-year-old’s love for her Minajesty.
“Kylie’s met Nicki a few times and she’s always been super cool with her so this is a huge shock. Kylie’s hurt but she’s trying not to get sucked into the negativity,” the insider adds. “Her sisters have all told her the best thing to do is ignore it and hold her head up high.”
If it’s any consolation to Kylie, her idol’s put-down was aimed mostly at Tyga. The hip hop stars have had a contentious relationship ever since Tyga degraded Nicki’s recent smash, “Truffle Butter.” The “Rack City” rapper recorded his own version of the track when he found out Nicki had claimed it for her own album. (He wanted the hit for himself, apparently!) Well, Miss Minaj wasn’t down with his spin on the song.
Backstage at the show, the brunette beauties were asked who they would be if they could be one artist for a day. While Kendall said she’d like to be Beyonce, Kylie admitted she’d want to become Nicki. Awkward much?! Watch their responses below:
“I would be Nicki Minaj,” Kylie says — as we all cringe! If she had seen “Feeling Myself” a few days beforehand, the luscious-lipped stunner may have (actually, probably most definitely would have) given a different answer.
