The first full length trailer for the upcoming Amy Winehouse documentary, titled simply ‘Amy,’ has just been released and it is probably even more heartbreaking than you could have imagined.
In the new documentary Amy, the life and death of troubled musician Amy Winehouse will be explored, and judging by this first full length trailer, it will be awfully difficult to watch at times. Amy, who died in 2011 at the horrifying age of 27, had an extraordinary gift and passion for music, both of which will be documented in the film, as will her struggles with addiction. Having made its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, the devastating depiction will hit theaters nationwide on July 10 and, to prepare for the emotionally wrought piece, you can watch a sneak peek right now.
Amy Winehouse Documentary Full Trailer
“The more people see of me, the more they’ll realize that all I’m good for is making music,” Amy tells an interviewer at the start of her rise to international fame. As we know, the more famous Amy became, the more she began to suffer.
Amy ‘Just Wanted To Be Loved’
“Amy was a girl that just wanted to be loved,” someone close to her reveals.
Along with tons of footage of and insight from Amy herself, the documentary will also feature interviews with Amy’s friends and family, many of whom watched helplessly as she spiraled out of control.
“I fell in love with someone that I would have died for,” we hear Amy say, as footage is shown of she and once-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. “And that’s like a real drug, isn’t it?”
