When it comes to singing reality shows, if one person knows how it works is Kelly Clarkson! The singer took the stage on ‘The Voice’ finale on May 19 with finalist Koryn Hawthorne, and the ladies killed it.

Talk about coming full circle! Kelly Clarkson, who was the first to win American Idol, took on another stage — The Voice — on May 19! Season 8 came to an end on Tuesday, but before a winner was named, final four competitor Koryn Hawthorne dueted with Kelly and gave an amazing rendition of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind.”

Kelly Clarkson’s Performance on ‘The Voice’ Finale With Koryn Hawthorne

Kelly, 33, is seriously on a roll! Promoting her seventh album, Piece by Piece, the singer belted out the tricky tune, with Koryn looking and sounding like a seasoned pro by her side!

“She can sing, ya’ll!” Kelly gushed of the 17-year-old, once they finished the song. Kelly has been a mentor on The Voice in the past, and it was so exciting to see her back on the stage, considering she recently took a brief break from music to get married and raise her adorable daughter, River Rose.

This upcoming album is the first for Kelly since 2011, so it’s not surprising she’s doing as much promoting as possible. Sia, Jason Evigan and Shane McAnally are all featured on this one, and all around the album has a unique sound.

A New Sound For Kelly

“Some of [the songs] are a little more R&B pop, some are more singer-songwriter.,” she told Wall Street Journal recently. “‘Invincible’ is the last one we recorded. I just like the message and how big it is. I love a big vocal like that.”

Kelly is super grateful for her new sound — and her family.

“I thought the baby would present more of an obstacle, just by being busy – but she’s made me more open, far more passionate,” she said. “When you have this great life going, you’re not as tense about everything. What really matters starts to float to the top. I find myself more creative. I have two other projects going on that I can’t talk about – but they’re completely different from what I do.”

Well Kell, we love what you do and you totally can do it. Kelly kicks off her Piece by Piece tour this summer starting in Hershey Park, Pennsylvania.
