Joey Graceffa Comes Out As Gay In ‘Don’t Wait’ Music Video
On May 16, Joey celebrated his 24th birthday the best way possible — by announcing to his 4 million-plus YouTube subscribers that he’s gay with the release of his telling new music video for “Don’t Wait.”
The super-emotional vid depicts the In Real Life author’s childhood as somewhat troubled, not always feeling like he fit in. The song urges fans to follow this liberating message: “Don’t wait for the world to be ready. Who says you can’t explore? Don’t wait for the world to be ready. Find what you’re looking for.”
Next, we see young Joey grow from a little boy into a young man in a matter of seconds, living out his lyrics by fighting evil and then finding love with his royal crush. Joey and his prince share a passionate kiss and two things are confirmed: 1, that Joey is gay and 2, that he is oh-so-brave. Check it out above and see for yourself! This mini-movie is seriously ah-mazing.
