Oh boy. In a peek behind the scenes on set of the upcoming ‘Maze Runner’ sequel, ‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials,’ star Dylan O’Brien broke down what fans can expect in the upcoming film– and he even likened it to ‘The Walking Dead!’
The highly anticipated Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials doesn’t hit theaters until Sept. 18, but thanks to the film’s star Dylan O’Brien, 23, we’re getting a special sneak peek at the film right now! Dylan was so kind as to take viewers behind the scenes on the set of the movie’s intense filming, as well as sit down for a quick chat to discuss what it’s like shooting those grueling scenes, and why the movie is like The Walking Dead!
‘Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials’ Behind The Scenes
Well, apparently Dylan O’Brien knew! Chatting with MTV Dylan explained that, “At the end of the first film, the Gladers, some of them make it out,” he said, taking a much needed break between scenes. “Basically, what the Gladers find out is that the world has been essentially taken over by this virus, this disease called the Flare. It’s basically like The Walking Dead all of a sudden.”
We are equal parts intrigued and terrified!
‘Maze Runner’ Movie Will Hold Up Against The Book
Along with that comparison, Dylan also discussed how the movie will overlap with the book on which it is based.
“The book is insane, and we’re bringing a lot of that to the movie,” he said. “It really just opens up the world with such a mystery in the first one. Of course, with what [director] Wes [Ball] does with it, it’s even cooler. The movie is going to look amazing, with a little less pressure off of me.”
Are you guys excited for the new Maze Runner?
