Kanye West’s Billboard Awards Performance: Fans Boo As He Sings ‘All Day’
There were some amazing performances at the Billboard Music Awards but Kanye definitely had the most controversial! Looking like he was trapped in fire with pyrotechnics surrounding him, Kanye gave fans a performance they will remember for some time. But was it for the right reasons?
Some fans definitely appreciated it, pumping their fists to his new tune “All Day” from his upcoming seventh studio album SWISH. Kanye had help producing the song from big names including Puff Daddy and French Montana so you would think it’s a hit in the making. Unfortunately, others in the crowd hollered out boos as her finished his performance. Ouch!
Kanye and Billboard’s annual awards gala practically go hand in hand. The hip hop star is a five-time BBMAs winner and has seen six albums at the top of the Billboard 200. He has had number one singles like “Gold Digger” and “Stronger,” as well as top 10 tracks “FourFiveSeconds”, “Heartless” and “All Falls Down”. Altogether Yeezy has had nearly 70 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
Kanye has been making a lot of headlines with his recent performances, some of which isn’t so good. At the 102.7 KIIS FM’s Wango Tango concert at the StubHub Center on May 9, a HollywoodLife.com eyewitness source says Kanye’s off-putting lyrics had hundreds of fans leaving before his final performance.
Before starting his hit “All Day,” Kanye warned, “The next song, I’m not really supposed to do it on radio this way, but if y’all don’t mind, I’m going to use the N-word a couple of times. Is that OK?”
Although some of the crowd cheered, many weren’t pleased. “Families who had kids ranging from 5 to 10 years old rushed out of the stadium,” says our eyewitness. “The stadium holds 27,000 people and hordes of them left. He did not edit himself at all, and parents were visibly pissed.” Fortunately, Kanye’s performance on the Billboard Awards was more PC!
