HBO has released a new, one-minute trailer for the second season of ‘True Detective.’ Not only does the new season look super gritty, but Rachel McAdams attacks a huge block of wood with a knife! We certainly wouldn’t want to ever get in her way. Watch the video here.
It looks like the second season of True Detective will be insanely intense and super dark. A new one-minute clip from the HBO drama has been released, and Rachel McAdams, 36, shows that she’s incredibly handy with a knife. Plus, Colin Farrell, 38, oozes sex appeal, and Vince Vaughn plays a cop who doesn’t mess around.
‘True Detective’ Trailer: Rachel McAdams Shows Violent Side In Season 2
Rachel is the one who steals the show in the new trailer, as she repeatedly stabs a huge wooden block with a knife. It sounds pretty innocent, but she practically murders the thing. The aggressive look on her face, as she’s doing so, suggests that she’ll be playing a character that’s not to be messed with.
We also get a glimpse of Taylor Kitsch, but based on this teaser, it’s hard to tell what he will be bringing to the table.

Rachel McAdams Admits ‘True Detective’ Character Is A Departure
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Rachel teased fans about her forthcoming role in True Detective in the June issue of Marie Claire.
“I love the exploration of someone who has such a different background from you. That exploration runs to compassion, and to cracking yourself open and creating more understanding of how weird and amazing life is,” she told Marie Claire. “I love that she’s not the girlfriend or the wife… She doesn’t really care what everyone thinks; she feels no responsibility for other people’s feelings. She’s not trying to be charming, which isn’t always the case with a leading lady. There’s [usually] sort of a responsibility to be a little bit likeable… Not that you want to be a horrendous character, just a little more human.”
The new season of True Detective premieres June 21 on HBO. What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Will you be watching the second season?
