Zayn Malik’s name was bound to come up during One Direction’s appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on May 14. The remaining boys — Harry Styles, 21, Louis Tomlinson, 23, Niall Horan, 21, and Liam Payne, 21 — revealed that were “surprised” and “angry” by Zayn’s decision to leave the band, but they still have mad love for their brother.
One Direction On ‘Late Late Show’: Talk Zayn Malik Quitting Band
“At first we were a little bit angry,” Liam told James during the interview. “We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling. There were certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts of the job that he didn’t. If you don’t like your job, you’ve got to follow your heart sometimes and go where you need to go. There’s no argument with that.”
Well, we can’t argue with Liam there. On one side, we totally understand the shock and awe the boys must have felt when Zayn announced he was leaving in March 2015. Then again, we know you’ve just got to follow your heart sometimes.
Liam fully admitted that the band was disappointed, but they only want the best for Zayn. “We wish him the best of luck with whatever he gets up to,” he said.
Oh, the 1D feelings!
The boys are taking a break from the recording studio to attend an epic night in music! One Direction is set to present an award at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on May 17.
This will be their first awards show without Zayn. Zayn recently made his first solo appearance at the 2015 Asian Awards on April 17. He received an award and thanked the band for being the “best guys I’ve ever met.”
HollywoodLifers, are you glad Zayn and 1D are still friends? Let us know!
