Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are cutting their time in Australia short. But, the couple had to make a choice: either leave the country, or have their dogs killed by the Australian government!
Aww. Who would want to hurt a face like that? The Australian is now on the bad side of dog-lovers everywhere, after threatening to destroy the puppies of Johnny Depp, 51, and his wife, Amber Heard, 29. After Johnny reportedly snuck his pooches into the country, he now has to take them back to the US or the doggies will be put to death!
Johnny Depp’s Puppies Will Be Put Down If They Don’t Leave Australia
The two Yorkshire terriers, named Boo and Pistol, need to leave Australia by May 16 or face euthanasia, reports the Daily Mail. The Australian Department of Agriculture say the dogs are in the country illegally and accuse Johnny of smuggling them on his private jet. The two adorable pups were discovered when reports surfaced of them being taken to a local groomer on Australia’s gold coast.
Johnny is down under to film the next movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. His new wife, Amber, is with him and it seems they couldn’t stand to be away from their pets. We don’t blame them, as they are so cute! However, animals coming in to not just Australia, but all counties, are subject to quarantine so they can be inspected for diseases. Sneaking them in is a big criminal offense — and foreign animals without the right permits have to be put down!
“That’s the deal,” the Minister for Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, said during an interview on 3AW mornings. “If people think that’s a bit harsh, well, I’ll tell you what harsh is. Harsh is if we let down our guard and ultimately, rabies gets into the country.”
Aww. It gets worse! Even as Johnny and Amber are reportedly set to leave, the dogs still might not be safe. The couple could be fined or even face jail time! Plus, Minister Barnaby says that Boo and Pistol may still be put down if their owners don’t hold the correct permits to re-enter their home country, reports ABC.
Oh no! We hope everything works out and the puppies are returned home, safe and sound!
After this terrifying episode, Johnny will be glad to keep all the death and horror in front of the camera. The versatile actor is once again changed his appearance in the new film, Black Mass. Set for a Sept. 18 release date, the movie has Johnny portraying the Boston criminal Whitey Bulger and in the new trailer, Johnny is nearly unrecognizable!
What do you think will happen with Johnny and Amber’s dogs, HollywoodLifers?
