Chris, you haven’t had the greatest track record when it comes to the women in your life, but you should be given credit for how you’ve enthusiastically embraced your unexpected daughter. You’ve vowed to be the best dad you can be, and that’s fantastic.
Chris Brown, not all men would have been thrilled to find out that they were a father through at DNA test, like you did after a casual relationship with Royalty‘s mother, Nia Amey. But while many men would have freaked out and some may have refused to be responsible, you have been a nonstop living and breathing example of what to do.
Chris Brown & Royalty: He’s Devoted To His Daughter — Fantastic!
You immediately accepted responsibility for Royalty’s parenthood and what that meant in both emotional and material ways.
We hear through sources that you have provided financial support to Royalty, now almost a year old, and to her mother, Nia Amey. So far, you have done this through a private agreement with Nia. She hasn’t had to take you to court.
In fact, sources tell us that you’d like to move Nia and Royalty to LA from Houston, where they live, so that you can see her all the time and be a hands-on father on a daily basis. That is absolutely the right thing to do.
“Chris has made it crystal clear to Nia that he’s going to be there for the baby, financially and all,” a source close to you revealed to HollywoodLife.com. You’ve done this even though you actually have no legal financial obligation to provide for Royalty, because you are not named on her birth certificate as her father.
Nia’s ex-boyfriend Brazil Riesling (aka King Ba) is actually listed as her dad. “Since Chris Brown is not named the father on Royalty’s birth certificate, Nia has no legal rights to go after him for financial support for herself or their child. He has no legal obligation to pay Nia child support,” LA attorney Mychal Wilson explained exclusively to HollywoodLife.com. “If Chris wanted to, he could walk away from the whole situation and not pay one dime.”
Chris Brown: He’s Supporting Royalty In Every Way
Well, Chris — you chose NOT to go that route. Instead, you are working with Nia to have your name placed on Royalty’s birth certificate because you want to be her loving father for life. As for your emotional support, you are giving it in spades to Royalty and she is the joy of your life.
“Everyday he’s with Royalty is a new, wonderful learning experience on how to be father,” he believes, according to an insider. “He looks forward to feeding her when he wakes up, bathing her, playing with her and all the other unpleasant things like changing diapers that comes with being a father. He’s loving his new role as a dad and all the joys and headaches that come with it.”
Chris, that’s wonderful. And even though you haven’t been the most mature in your relationship with longterm on-and-off love Karrueche Tran, at 26, you’ve stepped up in a completely adult way as a dad to your daughter.
And it is just so sweet, how you’re sharing your photos kissing and cuddling Royalty on your Instagram. She is getting all the affection and love that she needs from her daddy. “I honestly never knew I could love someone as strong as I do. I’m gonna give her the world,” you captioned a beautiful Instagram photo of Royalty sleeping.
Chris Brown Proudly Shares Photos & Videos Of Royalty On Social Media
You proudly posted a video of Royalty saying “Da Da” in her adorable little voice, while you held her, on May 13. And a source told us that watching little Royalty sing brings you to tears. “Watching her grow up right before his very eyes blows his mind,” another source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “He never imagined that a little baby girl could make him feel like the biggest man on earth.”
Chris, that’s terrific. And hopefully, the responsibility of having your little daughter will help you make better choices in the other parts of your life.
Hopefully, you are continuing your regular therapy and counseling, which you have publicly said has helped you so much. Being a father will have its challenges, especially as Royalty grows. You want to be able to maturely deal with parenting issues for the decades to come.
Right now, you are truly behaving like a Father of the Year. You and Royalty are lucky to have each other as family.
HollywoodLifers — do you agree that Chris is being a great dad to Royalty? Let me know.
