‘Once Upon A Time’: [SPOILER] Becoming The Dark One Is The Best Twist Ever

Let’s talk about that ending! In the final moments of the ‘Once Upon A Time’ season finale, it was [SPOILER] who became the Dark One. Yep, [SPOILER] is now full-on EVIL, and I think this is best way to kickoff season five!

No one could have predicted this. After battling the Author’s (Patrick Fischler) crazy rewrite of everyone’s fate in the Once Upon A Time finale, our favorite Storybrooke inhabitants finally started to settle down. However in a desperate attempt to save Rumple (Robert Carlyle), the darkness was taken from his body, and one of our fan favorite characters let his evil consume them to become the Dark One. The new Dark One is someone you never expected, and that’s why it’s a great twist for season five!

‘Once Upon A Time:’ Emma Is The Dark — Best Twist For Season 5

Yep, Emma is officially the Dark One now!

In a shocking twist, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) stepped in when Regina (Lana Parilla) needed her most. The darkness nearly devoured Regina, but Emma took one for the team. Because she’s the savior and never loses hope, she knows that her parents and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) will find a way to save her. That’s when she used the dagger and allowed the darkness to consume her, making her the Dark One.

Can we just talk about how INCREDIBLE this is? I thought that the OUAT creators would sort of leave the season finale open-ended after Emma and the rest of the gang went to hell and back in the those two hours. Nope. Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis delivered a game-changer, and it’s probably the best turn the show has ever taken.

Emma as the Dark One opens up all sorts of possibilities for season five. Yeah, I love the idea of Emma being the savior, but it’s time to spice things up a bit. The season finale gave me a little taste of something different, and I want more.

Boy, am I going to get it. I love Jennifer Morrison, and I think she’ll do a terrific job as a villain. Regina and Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) have been able to show their bad side, and it’s time Emma got in on the fun.

With this twist, there’s likely going to be bloodshed and lots of tears. All of this will build up into one amazing climax after Hook, Snow and Charming (Josh Dallas) find Merlin and destroy the darkness once and for all.

P.S. Dark Emma, please be gentle with Hook. I don’t think I can take another moment like I experience tonight when I thought he was gone for good. That’s all.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Emma being completely evil is the perfect season 5 twist? Let me know!
