Wait, what? Some fans weren’t feeling Kanye’s performance at the end of Wango Tango on May 9. HollywoodLife.com was there for the entire event, and we’ll tell you exactly what happened.
Well, this was certainly unexpected. Kanye West, 37, closed 102.7 KIIS FM’s Wango Tango at the StubHub Center on May 9, but hundreds of fans left before his final performance, HollywoodLife.com saw first-hand. Here are the EXCLUSIVE details on why a big chunk of the audience at Wango Tango left unhappy with Ye’s performance.
Kanye West’s Performance At Wango Tango: Fans Leave During ‘All Day’
Kanye’s Wango Tango performance included some of his biggest hits, including “All Day.” Before he started the song, he warned, “The next song, I’m not really supposed to do it on radio this way, but if y’all don’t mind, I’m going to use the N-word a couple of times. Is that OK?”
The crowd cheered, but not the entire crowd. His song “All Day” includes the N-word, and Ye didn’t change the song for the music event. “Families who had kids ranging from 5 to 10 years old rushed out of the stadium,” an eyewitness tells HollywoodLife.com. “The stadium holds 27,000 people and hordes of them left. He did not edit himself at all, and parents were visibly pissed.”
But that doesn’t mean kids didn’t enjoy the performance. “Kids loved it that weren’t with parents, but parents were like, “We should have left after Justin Bieber,” our eyewitness continues.
Well, at least Kanye warned the crowd before singing “All Day.” His music is definitely more suited for an older, more mature audience. Artists like Justin 21, Fifth Harmony and Nick Jonas, 22, performed before Ye, and they have a much younger audience than Kanye, so it’s understandable why parents were shocked by the sudden shift in performances.
So Help Me God is no longer the title of Kanye’s seventh album. In a bold and unexpected move, Kanye decided to change the album’s title to SWISH. Yep. SWISH.
Why does this have significance to Kanye? Well, remember that time Kanye posted all those pics of a very naked Kim on Twitter? The caption to all of those sexy photos was “SWISH.”
Ye says he might change the title again, but we think SWISH is a pretty good title for his next album. Maybe it will be an entire tribute to Kim Kardashian, 34!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Kanye should have toned down his songs for Wango Tango? What did you think of his performance? Let us know!
