Whoa. Charles Xavier’s long brown hair is GONE. James is going full-on Professor X for ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ by shaving his head for the movie. Click to see the transformation!
Charles Xavier is going to look very different in X-Men: Apocalypse. Director Bryan Singer, 49, posted a photo of James McAvoy, 36, completely bald on May 8. As we know, the older Professor X sports the hairless look in the comics and books, so it’s no surprise that James decided to shave his head for the role!
James McAvoy Is Bald: Shaves Head For ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’
Bryan sent X-Men fans into a tizzy by posting a shocking photo of James with no hair at all! The director shared the Instagram snap on May 8 with the caption, “#Xavier reborn (in process ) #jamesmcavoy #XMEN#XMenApocalypse @xmenmovies.”
Holy nuts. James has NO HAIR. Those long, luscious locks of brown hair are a thing of the past. James always gives his roles 100% — Atonement, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, etc. — so we should have assumed he would tackle the role of Charles Xavier like this.
This is the next step for James’ Charles Xavier turning into the Professor X we know and love from previous X-Men movies. Looking at you, Patrick Stewart! Charles struggled with losing his ability to walk in X-Men: Days of Future Past, and now he’s taking his role to the next level.
It’s going to take some getting used to James’ new look, but he looks great. If we can get through Jared Leto’s haircut, we can get through anything.
If the X-Men decide to continue after Apocalypse, the cast will be without Jennifer Lawrence, 24. She told MTV at the premiere of Serena in March 2015 that X-Men: Apocalypse would be her final X-Men film.
Welp. That’s a bummer. However, with this new band of mutants, including Sophie Turner, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tye Sheridan, and Alexandra Shipp, we shouldn’t miss JLaw too much.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of James’ transformation? Do you think he really shaved his head? Let us know!
