Kylie finally admitted that she’s had lip injections to plump up her lips but the debate continues as to whether the reality star is too young to be experimenting with cosmetic fillers! HollywoodLife.com spoke to a top NYC dermatologist who tells us exactly why there’s no longterm damage with what Kylie’s doing.
In many people’s opinion, Kylie Jenner is too young to be tweaking her face with cosmetic fillers but from a medical standpoint, she’s fine. HollywoodLife.com spoke to Dr. Bruce Katz, the director of the highly regarded, Juva Skin Center in NYC, who tells us that there’s really not much damage Kylie is doing by cosmetically enhancing her lips and it’s all reversible.
Kylie Jenner: Too Young To Get Lip Injections, Claim Experts
Dr. Katz tells us that although each case is different, at 17-years-old one’s face is usually completely developed and that goes for your lips too.
“If the woman has thin lips then she’s not too young,” he tells us. “When you have a girl who is pretty much developed then it’s not bad to inject hyaluronic acid or juvederm. We can always use an enzyme to reverse it it immediately.”
But like any type of filler, Dr. Katz does say that you can have “bruising, swelling or lumps” at the site of the injection.
“There is no long term damage,” Dr. Katz tells us. “It will not affecting the ‘cupid’s bow’ and it only lasts 9 months to a year.” He also adds that your body breaks it down over the course of a year and even if Kylie was going every few months to get fillers, there’s no evidence of this being problematic.
Kylie’s Lip Confession Finally Revealed
While being interviewed by Steven Fernandez, on KUWTK, Kylie gets overwhelmed when she’s asked if she’s had lip injections. Although she doesn’t admit it to him she does reveal that she has used injectibles during a voiceover on KUWTK.
“I have temporary lip fillers, it’s just an insecurity of mine and it’s what I wanted to do,” she admits. “I’m just not ready to talk [about it yet]…everyone always picks us apart. I want to admit to the lips, but people are so quick to judge me on everything, so I might have tiptoed around the truth, but I didn’t lie.”
But she did slam the lip filler accusations in the February 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan, by saying that her big lips were due to her skillfully applied lip liner.
But her big sis, Khloe Kardashian, 30, let the cat out of the bag before Kylie could even admit it.
“Kylie decided to plump her lips, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that,” Khloe says in another KUWTK preview clip. “I think if you’ve done something tho, it is right to cop up to it. If you avoid a question, you’re gonna look like a liar.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think it’s a mistake for Kylie to be getting lip fillers?
