Aww, Ed! We knew Ed Sheeran was a total softie, but when a bold fan proposed to his girlfriend onstage during one of Ed’s concerts, the singer couldn’t hold back his tears. All of the feels, kids!
Fans at Ed Sheeran‘s concert in Austin, TX on May 6 were treated with a little something different — a marriage proposal during his song “All Of The Stars!” The emotional moment left not a dry in the house, including Ed’s, and the whole sweet exchange was caught on tape. Check it out!
Ed Sheeran Cries As Fan Proposes On Stage At Concert
Are you ready to have cathartic cry? Ed’s probably curled up at home right now with his favorite bathrobe and one of 25-year-old Taylor Swift‘s cats after doing just that! Ed, 24, saw a dedicated fan waving a sign throughout his Austin concert on Wednesday, May 6, that made his intention known that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend on stage.
“I never actually do this, but I’ve just had a dude sitting in the front row holding a sign up for me during the whole concert,” Ed said. “Would you like to come on stage?” he offered.
This guy gets extra points for getting creative with his proposal and incorporating Ed’s lyrics with every step. As if freaking proposing onstage at the concert wasn’t cool enough! “I’m just thinking out loud here,” he starts.
From all the “awwws” and clapping coming from the audience, it’s clear that he’s a total keeper in their eyes. And adorable Ed sitting on a speaker, watching the proposal go down with his eyes tearing up, agrees.
Ed shared the video of the proposal on Twitter on May 7, and warned his fans not to tell anyone that he got a little misty-eyed that night. The cat’s out of the bag, you sensitive, darling man. We’ll tell everyone it was raining in the arena, though.

It seems like everywhere Ed goes, cuter than cute news follows. The singer appeared on Sesame Street back in 2013, but the video of his trip down to the street didn’t surface until much later. Luckily, we were still able to see his amazing work on the song Two Different Worlds with Elmo, Grover, Cookie Monster and the rest of the crew.
Ed, you’re a man of many talents, and we’re a little jealous that you got to party with those muppets.
HollywoodLifers, did you tear up at this sweet proposal?
