Pale pink and vibrant berry lipstick shades made for a surprisingly popular choice at the ‘China: Through The Looking Glass’ themed Met Gala on May 4. While we expected to see classic bright red colors, the various shades of pink on celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Chrissy Teigen were a pretty option to ease into the brighter shades of summer.
While Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez went sheer with soft, glossy shades of pink, Jennifer Lawrence and Chrissy Teigen chose brighter pops of color to complement their gowns — proving there’s no wrong way to wear pink. Met Gala Lipstick — Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence & More
JLaw’s beauty look at the Met Gala was all bronzed skin and neutral brown eyeshadows, making her poppy pink lipstick stand out even more. To copy her gorgeous color, line your lips with Rouge Dior Contour LipLiner Pencil in Elite Pink, then fill your lips with Rouge Dior Brilliant Lipshine in Hollywood.
Chrissy went for a fuchsia lipstick to match the flowers hairstylist Jen Atkin pinned into the model’s retro waves created with products from Paul Mitchell and MarulaOil. To get her bright pink shade, makeup artist Mary Phillips used Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani Lipstick in #513.
Pale Pink Lips At The Met Gala
If a more neutral shade of pink is more your style or you’re not a fan of traditional lipsticks, then Beyoncé and JLo have your lippy of choice. For Queen Bey’s barely-there shade, makeup artist Sir John used L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Last Lip Color in Neverending Nutmeg for a pink color that was almost as sheer as Beyoncé’s dress. JLo went for a brighter gloss with L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Le Gloss in Peach Fuzz.
What’s your favorite shade of lipstick for the spring, HollywoodLifers? Were you surprised to see so many pink hues at the Met Gala?
