Who will it be?! Now that Sam Taylor-Johnson will not be directing ‘Fifty Shades Darker’, will the mastermind behind the story itself, E.L. James, step up to the role of director for the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ sequel? HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE scoop!
Fans are dying for the even darker and sexier Fifty Shades of Grey sequel, but that requires a top-notch director! After it was announced that Fifty Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson would not direct the second film, many are left wondering whether the author of the series, E.L. James will take the director’s seat. Is she in the running at all? Here’s what HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY learned!
E.L. James: Directing ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Sequel?
“Sam Taylor-Johnson is not returning to the director’s chair and they are hesitant in putting E.L James in that position,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She wants to do it, but the studio obviously sees the nightmares that could come from that.”
We think that E.L. would make a fantastic director since she knows the story inside and out, but at the same time, film is a completely different medium and she might not be up to the task — or at least that’s how the studio sees it.
“Its going to be someone new and the announcement will probably be made around July,” our insider continues. “They want a director who is not well known so they can keep the costs down and allow the studio and E.L. to get their way and their vision.”
We hope that whoever is in the director’s seat next shares a similar vision as E.L., since it was rumored that Sam left because she clashed with E.L.
Jamie Dornan: Nude In ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ for $1.5 Million Dollars?
Whomever the director is must do a fantastic job of capturing Mr. Grey — we mean, Jamie Dornan, 33, — full frontal! Yep, that’s right, we will get up close and personal with Jamie in the sequel, if he accepts the studio’s $1.5 million offer!
“They’re offering Jamie a bonus of $1.5 million to do a full-frontal scene in Fifty Shades Darker,” a source told Star magazine. “That’s just a starting figure. Jamie would be crazy not to consider it.” Um, yeah!
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think E.L. James should direct Fifty Shades Darker? Sound off below!
