This week’s shocking eliminations on Dancing With The Stars were totally unexpected. Not even Carly Rae Jepsen‘s performance of “I Really Like You” on the May 5 episode cheered us up — it was that brutal.
‘DWTS’: Robert Herjavec & Chris Soules Eliminated — May 5 Recap
We know that elimination episodes typically feature a lot of fluff before getting to the good stuff, but we’re going to save you some time and get right to the nitty gritty.
The first couple to be sent home was Shark Tank star Robert Herjavic and his partner, Kym Johnson. Bummer — not even their steamy kiss could save them. But throughout the episode, the show did air footage of the rumored couple backstage, where we saw them calling each other “baby” and saying “I love you.”
And when hosts Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron tried asking them about their relationship, they kept changing the subject and dodging the questions. Erin seemed pretty annoyed.
“That’s annoying. Answer the question,” she was heard saying into her microphone as Robert and Kym took one final bow.
Later, Chris Soules was also let go. And he also refused to answer some questions, but it was due to his emotions. The Bachelor star could barely compose himself as tears welled in his eyes.
“This has been an incredible experience,” Chris managed to say, before adding, “It’s been life-changing.”
Besides Carly Rae Jepsen, Josh Groban also performed. Perhaps he’s to blame for Chris’ tears. We all know how Josh’s songs can easily pull at your heartstrings.
