It was America’s Choice night on ‘DWTS,’ and they wanted some romance! So of course, they got what they wanted; especially when it came to Robert and Kym!
After the shocking elimination last week on Dancing with the Stars, the pressure was definitely on! America’s Choice week featured one pair landing the first perfect score of this season, while the trios brought in quite the challenge — and super sexy dancing!
‘DWTS’ America’s Choice
Sharna Burgess and Noah Galloway started it off with America’s choice — the tango! It was absolutely beautiful but Len Goodman hoped for more “intensity.” It stayed military-like, which the audience wanted, and it was absolutely magical. They got a 31 out of 40!
Chris Soules and Witney Carson did a dramatic contemporary routine, which may have been their most dramatic one yet! He was lifting her at every minute! Julianne Hough gave him “most improved of this season,” and it paid off — they landed a 34!
Allison Holker and Riker Lynch were assigned the viennese waltz to Rihanna‘s “What Now”– and he was forced to be vulnerable. And oh did he! She was so proud afterward, that after they broke character, she jumped into the air! They got a 39 — and totally deserved it!
Kym Johnson and Robert Herjavic were pressured by America to finally kiss! They did a very whimsical, wind-filled contemporary dance — and YES, THEY KISSED. It was actually a very impressive dance but it kind of was overlooked by the smooching! They got a 33.
Nastia Liukin danced the Paso Doble with Sasha Farber, while Derek Hough was out with an injury — and it was very gladiator like! Even Derek was there supporting, in costume! Julianne said it was “really fun to watch,” which we have to agree. They got a 36!
Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy were the last to go, and were given the Rumba, after having a pretty emotional previous week. It was classic and romantic and her proud mama Demi sat in the audience cheering her on! Julianne called it their best dance yet, while Bruno called it “pitch perfect.” They landed the first-ever PERFECT 40 of the season!
Noah and Sharna were joined by Emma Slater, and they definitely took advantage of the trio dance — they got super creative with their arms and did some crazy lifts. Oh, and his abs were out, so it was nice to watch for the ladies, too! Bruno Tonioli got so excited, he literally fell off his chair. Carrie Ann Inaba caled him “Mr. I’Mpossible!” They got a 32 (63 for the night).
Chris and Whitney were joined by Lindsay Arnold for a lightening-filled Paso Doble dance! He was very intense and tried to keep it throughout, but it got a little . . . stompy. They got a 30 (64 for the night).
Brittany Cherry joined Riker and Allison to perform a party-like Jazz song — definitely the sexiest we’ve ever seen form him! It was 100 percent my favorite dance of the night and the judges loved it too. Somehow, Len still gave them a 9 and they got a 39 (total of 78).
Kym and Robert brought in Jenna Johnson, but he was a little flustered doing the Samba with two girls! However, when it came time to perform, he put on his sunglasses for a black and white affair. It was cute, but as Len called it, it was “messy.” They got a 29 (total of 62).
Sasha, Nastia and Derek did the jive, in the theme of a love triangle. It was perfect — the slow moves could go to Derek while the fast went to Sasha. And it made sense, because in a way she is juggling two partners. There was drama backstage, but they all got focused when it was time to perform! It was absolutely adorable — and Derek danced again! Len called it “fantastic,” which got him a kiss from Derek. Although Nastia still had that cold look on her face, I assume she was happy with her scores: a perfect 40 (76 overall).
Last up was Rumer, Val, and Artem Chigvintsev took on the Paso Doble and it was very very sexy! They were very creative and stylish, and ended up with a score of 40 — yes they got a perfect score of 80!
