Chris Brown, 25, is being accused of battery after allegedly beating a man during a basketball game in Las Vegas on May 4. At this time, Chris has not yet spoken to police, but he is considered a suspect and charges may be filed.
Chris Brown Punches Man In Las Vegas? — He’s Now A Suspect For Battery
The “Loyal” singer was allegedly playing basketball at the Palms Casino Resort during the early morning hours of May 4, according to police who spoke to TMZ. At some point, a fight broke out and Chris allegedly got into an argument with one of the guys playing. Then, Chris allegedly punched him.
“The victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown,” a press release by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department states. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and then released.
Police quickly responded to the scene, TMZ claims, but they did not speak to Chris because he was not available. He is, however, a suspect for battery.
Chris Brown Facing More Trouble After Rihanna Probation?
In March, Chris got off probation in the Rihanna case, but this incident could land him in even more trouble.
“Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution. At that time, Mr. Brown would receive a summons to appear in Clark County Justice Court,” the press release also states.
Chris’ rep tells HollywoodLife.com, “Chris is currently in Las Vegas, as he is performing at Drais on May 5 and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well. He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person.”
