The night shift is getting a very special visitor– two, actually! On an upcoming episode, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden pay our favorite San Antonio docs a visit. Watch a sneak peek of their appearance now!
The Night Shift is getting the white house treatment. On the May 4 episode of the medical drama, the First Lady herself, Michelle Obama has a special message for the San Antonio night shift team. Better yet, she gets some assistance from Dr. Jill Biden (the wife of someone you may have heard of, Vice President Joe Biden). Check out a heartwarming sneak peek of the appearance, and keep your eyes open for a Trace Adkins cameo– we know, too much awesomeness for one clip!
‘The Night Shift’: Michelle Obama Stops By
When she’s not fighting childhood obesity or standing at the side of the most powerful man in the world, the first lady also finds time to give back– to television! In a special episode, The Night Shift will honor veterans and highlight veteran health initiative, and what better way to do that than with a shoutout from Michelle and Dr. Jill Biden?
In the sneak peek, after having been introduced to the group by TC (Eoin Macken), MMA group therapy leader Smalls (guest star Trace Adkins) wants to thank everyone for their work with veterans. However, as he walks into the room while everyone prepares for their shift, he admits that he’s about to be outdone by someone else who wishes to do the same thing.
Cut to: a message from Michelle and Jill! Watch it yourself– if you think you can keep from crying!
An Emotional ‘The Night Shift’
The rest of the episode will likely be just as emotional. Jordan (Jill Flint) and Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) help a nine-year-old boy with a serious fever, according to an official episode description. When his high-strung mother begins to exhibit signs of distress as well, the team realizes there is more to the family dynamic than meets the eye.
Elsewhere, Topher (Ken Leung) is faced with a big decision about making an emergency trip overseas to help a close friend with a fatal heart condition, and TC considers whether he should accompany Topher on the journey. Meanwhile, Ragosa (Freddy Rodriguez), Drew (Brendan Fehr) and Krista (Jeananne Goossen) compete for the strangest case of the night as the full moon brings in the weirdest patients.
