Finally! Diane Von Furstenberg has broken her silence after feeling the heat from angry social media users, who have attacked the fashion designer for posting a manipulated photo of Bruce Jenner wearing a dress.
We’re sure she meant well! Diane von Furstenberg, 68, was unfairly torched by unkind remarks on the internet after posting a Photoshopped image of Bruce Jenner, 65, wearing a dress. Her accompanying words to the post were sweet, but the hailstorm of negative reactions forced Diane to quickly delete the photo from Instagram. Now, the House of DVF star has spoken out. Diane Von Furstenberg On Bruce Jenner Dress Pic — Reveals Why She Posted It
Diane, known for her famous wrap dresses, uploaded the much talked about image to the official DVF Instagram account. It showed Bruce’s face superimposed over her own, in a shot that was used for a 1974 ad featuring the slogan, “Feel like a woman, wear a dress!”
While the post did not sit well with online commentators, Diane insists there was no ill will behind it. She has nothing but love and admiration for Bruce as he makes his brave male to female transition.
“I admire Bruce Jenners’s strength, courage and honesty and have so much respect [for] him using his voice to speak for people who have none. I wish him nothing but a lifetime of happiness,” the fashion powerhouse said in a statement to Access Hollywood.
The original photo was captioned, “Bruce Jenner… You are the woman you wanted to be ! I salute your strength, courage and honesty. By speaking out, you have spoken for so many who suffer… Love Diane,” and included the tags “@kimkardashian” and “@kendeljenner” Check it out!

Bruce has much more important things to worry about, rather than harp on a social media snafu, anyway — like how his youngest kids, Kendall Jenner, 19, and Kylie Jenner, 17, are handling him becoming a woman.
“The whole transition was much harder for the Kardashian kids and Kylie and Kendall,” a source reports in the May 11 issue of People magazine. “It was hard to grasp. And there was a lot of lying to the kids over the years on Bruce’s part, even as close as they were. It’s going to take some time for the kids to get used to it all.”
We’re sure Kendall and Kyle will come around!
