It’s always so hard on Tuesdays when we have to say goodbye to more contestant on ‘The Voice’! On the show’s April 28 episode, two more singers were sadly eliminated. Find out who’ll be singing in the Top 6!
Another week, another two singers sent home from The Voice. America’s votes have been counted and the Season 8 Top 6 was announced on April 28. Check out our full recap to find out who went home, who was instantly saved and everything else that went down in between!
‘The Voice’ Top 6 Revealed: Corey Kent White, Hannah Kirby Sent Home
Kicking things off was guest performer Jason Derulo, who teamed up with Christina Aguilera‘s team members India Carney and Kimberly Nichole to sing his most recent hit “Want To Want Me.” Ummmm…that falsetto, though!
After the awesome performance, host Carson Daly brought all of the Top 8 together to start revealing the names of those who would be moving on. The first artist making it to next week? Adam Levine‘s only remaining team member, Joshua Davis! Talk about a comeback performance at the right time — Josh was in the bottom three last week, and was instantly saved by America’s Twitter vote.
Following a commercial break, we got to hear the coaches gush about the singers left on their teams (anything to drag things out, right?!), and Rozzi Crane took the stage to perform her hit “Psycho.” Amazing!
Next, Blake Shelton‘s artist Meghan Linsey was called safe, and was rewarded with an excited reaction and huge hug from her coach. Blake and Meghan go way back — she used to open for him on tour while she was part of country duo Steel Magnolia — so it’s super cool to see them taking this journey together!
Before getting to more results, Lee Brice took the stage to perform his latest hit “Drinking Class” with Team Blake country singer Corey Kent White, and the duo totally got the crowd pumped up. Love it!
Getting back to business, Carson informed the remaining five artists that Kimberly Nichole of Team Christina and Koryn Hawthorne of Team Pharrell will be singing in the Top 6. Yay! That left Blake’s Hannah Kirby and Corey Kent White and Christina’s India Carney to sing for their lives in hope of staying in the competition thanks to America’s Instant Save.
Hannah was up first, and belted out Imagine Dragons’ “Radioactive.” She really gave it her all and brought the dramatics for her last chance performance, which had the crowd on their feet, but will it be enough!? “There’s a ton of things I could sit here and brag about you Hannah, but I just want to say this because I think this is important — I think the most important thing about being an artist is being different than anybody else. And I don’t know anybody else that’s ever been on this stage, on this show, that’s as cut from a different cloth like Hannah is,” coach Blake gushed. Damn right!
Next, Corey took the stage to sing Keith Urban’s classic “Somebody Like You.” Corey is certainly doing country music justice as the only remaining artist representing that genre in the competition, and it was no different with his Instant Save performance. “You’re filling a very important spot for this show,” Blake told his country boy. “You don’t sound like anybody else, man. That’s important to country music — to have someone like you represent the genre on a stage like this.”
Last up was India, who really brought it with her rendition of “Human” by Christina Perri. Talk about singing for your life! India has been consistently amazing since the beginning of the show, but the decision is now in America’s hands. The performance brought coach Christina to her feet, and had her raving, “You are a true fighter, India. You definitely don’t deserve to be in the bottom 3 and I can’t even believe that there’s a possibility right now you could go home. Don’t let this girl go, guys! You need to be here.”
And the artist instantly saved by America thanks to a Twitter vote is….India Carney! And Carson even said it was the closest vote ever!
That leaves Pharrell with two artists, Adam with one, Christina with two and Blake with one. And can you believe that four of the remaining six artists (Meghan, Josh, Koryn and Kimberly) were all steals at the beginning of the show?! Crazy!
Next week, the Top 6 will perform for America’s votes once again — it’s make it or break it time, for sure!
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with the vote this week? Who do you think will win it all?
