’19 Kids & Counting’ Recap: Jessa & Ben Move Into Their First House

Now that the honeymoon is over, it’s time for Jessa and Ben to settle into married life. Thanks to the help of all the Duggar children, Jessa and Ben’s furniture made it into their house in no time at all. It’s going to be a big adjustment for Jessa who went from living in a full house, to only living with Ben now. Tonight, Jessa decided to make her first meal for Ben, which turned out to be surprising good, even though she accidentally cooked the owners manual in the oven. It seems that the Italian cooking class from her honeymoon came in handy!

Jill & Derick Head To DC

With baby Dilly on the way, both Jill and Derick have a lot to learn before his arrival. The pair head to DC to visit with Josh and Anna to see just what goes into parenting young kids. The boys decide to cook dinner for the family, while Jill and Anna spend quality girl time together making inspiration boards. Derick quickly learns that being a parent is the opposite of easy. When him and Josh head to the grocery store, they bring along all three of Josh’s kids. First, Derick had to grasp the concept of properly putting a child safely in a carseat. Then he had to learn how to control the children inside the grocery store with so many temptations around like cheese balls, candy and pig feet. And lastly, he had to learn to never, ever, lose one of your kids!

The Girls Redecorate Their Bedroom

Now that Jill and Jessa no longer live at home, the Duggar girls feel like they need to change up their bedroom a little bit. They decide to get rid of the “little girl” feel, and take it up to an older girl level. They enlist the help of Michelle‘s good friend Cindy, to take the reigns on the project.

Thanks to all the Duggar brothers, it took less than two hours to remove all the bedroom furniture. They all start off by painting, which Jim Bob admits was the hardest thing he had to do — emotionally. Little Jenny speaks up and asks for her horse to remain on the wall, but instead Jim Bob comes up with the idea to take a picture of it & hang it on the new wall. In the end, the room comes together nicely, and everyone was happen with the finished product.

Jill Starts Decorating The Baby’s Nursery

While the Duggars are renovating the girl’s bedroom, Jill is starting a new project of her own — the baby’s nursery. Michelle, Jill and Jessa head to the store to pick up furniture and to grab a handful of items. Jill admits she has officially entered the nesting stage of her pregnancy, just as she begins to awe over the baby clothes.

Over in DC, Josh and Anna take the kids to their first midwife appointment. There, the kids were able to get involved when it came time for Anna to hear her baby’s heartbeat.

Josie Has A Medical Emergency

While Jim Bob and Michelle were in Chicago, and Jana was in charge back at home. Josie was running around and playing prior to James walking in. He was the first Duggar to notice that Josie wasn’t acting right and alerted Jana. “He [James] asked her a question, and she didn’t really respond. She was just sitting there, staring, and then started jerking,” Jana recalled. James knew it was a sign of a seizure and told Jana.  Scott Enlow, the director, jumped in to assist Jana until the paramedics show up to rush Josie to the hospital. She was turning blue and had a little bit of vomit in her mouth at the time. Thankfully they were able to get her fever under control at the hospital, and Josie was released back to her family.
