It was chaos in the cage between Seth Rollins — the WWE World Heavyweight champion, and Randy Orton. The title was up for grabs during the main event — ‘Extreme Rules’ — but there was one stipulation, no RKOs. Or so we thought!
Randy Orton was gunning for Seth Rollins‘ title on April 26 during the pay-per-view main event, Extreme Rules. There was a stipulation for this cage fight, Randy wasn’t allowed to use his signature move, the RKO — what happened next at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, was epic!
WWE: Seth Rollins Uses Randy Orton’s Move Agaist Him To Win
In Seth’s first title defense since winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania on March 29, he came back on fire. He took on Randy in a steel cage match at Extreme Rules, and did the last thing we would expect — use Randy’s signature move against him to win!
The match started off at a low crawl with the usual trek of each wrestler trying to climb up and out of the cage right from the jump. Hey, why climb when you can simply just walk out the door? Well, it wasn’t that easy due to Kane acting as “guardian of the gate.” Then were was also the stipulation that Randy wasn’t allowed to use his main finishing move, the RKO.
Seth Defeats Randy To Remain Heavyweight Champion
Randy had the edge over Seth most of the match, landing a solid Pedigree to the champ, and attempting to exit. But, there was Kane and he slammed the door in his face.
Near the end when we thought Randy had it in the bag, Kane intervened again and delivered choke slams to both Randy and Seth. He then dragged Seth’s body on top of Randy’s in hopes to end the match, but Randy kicked out. So, Kane tried to come back to finish the job with his famous tombstone pile driver, but Randy countered it with his finishing move the RKO.
Just as Randy was celebrating, Seth popped up and destroyed the Viper with his own move the RKO and bam, the champ remains!
